A Buried Treasure:

The Avant-Garde Chamber Music of Mikis Theodorakis

Mikis Theodorakis
Mikis Theodorakis

This evening’s lecture and concert aims to depict a small part of Mikis Theodorakis’s incredible personality as a composer and especially as a classical music composer. Gail Holst-Warhaft, who was a pianist in his band in the heroic era of the 1970s and his loyal friend until his recent death, will present to us, in her exceptional style, elements of his development as a chamber music composer, enriched by many unknown facts about his personal life at the time. The Athens String Quartet will perform his most emblematic chamber music pieces with accuracy and love.
