The distinguished Greek, classical guitar soloist, Dimitris Soukaras meets Italian bandoneon virtuoso, Giancarlo Palena on stage to present an alternative music program. The two young musicians, while studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, realized they shared a common passion for Astor Piazzolla’s music. They started performing together in Greece, Italy, England, Canada and the United States, cooperating with a variety of orchestras and participating in music festivals in Italy and Greece.

On Paxos they are presenting a program of transcriptions of celebrated film scores. Enio Morricone’s famous pieces from beloved westerns, Mikis Theodorakis compositions from films like Serpico and Zorba the Greek and more, will resound in the Old Loggos school yard. Tango Nuevo and Piazzolla’s works will also be starring in their program.
