Guided walk

Please join us for a guided walk that will takes us to three historic Paxos churches normally closed to the public: Agios Georgios in Veliantatika, Profitis Ilias and Pantokratoras in Makratika.

 

Akis Papadoatos, principal restorer of church icons and mural paintings of Paxos churches, will relate to us the history of the churches, of their paintings and architecture. Chris Boïcos will be translating his remarks into English and into French.

 

Stone arches of the house of Count Makris and the belfry of the Pantokratoras church in Makratika/The impressive iconostasis of the church of Profitis Ilias.



Proceeds from this walk will contribute to the ongoing restoration projects of the 17th and 18th century murals of the 64 churches of Paxos

Contribution: 15€, 10€ for the Friends of Paxos 2022.
