Please join us for a guided walk that will takes us to three historic Paxos churches normally closed to the public: Taxiarhes church in Magazia, Agios Antonios and Agios Isavros in Kastanida, all with important iconostases and 18th century mural paintings.

 

Akis Papadatos, principal restorer of church icons and mural paintings of Paxos churches, will relate to us the history of the churches, of their paintings and architecture. Chris Boïcos will be translating his remarks into English and into French.

Proceeds from this walk will contribute to the ongoing restoration projects of the 17th and 18th century murals of the 64 churches of Paxos
